The 3-D printer from 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment prints pack clips at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 6, 2017. The printer heats the material to 205 degrees Fahrenheit and uses three fans to immediately cool to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. 2/8 is the first infantry battalion in the United States Marine Corps to utilize a 3-D printer to ensure battalion readiness in the event of equipment malfunctions.
